WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?

I’m incredibly excited to be able to help bring today and tomorrow’s workplace into your classroom, by connecting the skills students are learning in school with exciting jobs in the tech sector. During these online events, students will be able to ask BT Group employees and experts their burning questions. They’ll also explore a range of exciting tech innovations and build their essential skills for future learning and work.

WHAT WILL THE EVENT INCLUDE?

There are 3 interactive sessions across a 2 hour event that has been developed by teachers for teachers. It’s a great opportunity to bring as many students from your school as you can – I’d recommend joining with big groups, like a whole year group, to get the most out of the in-school reflection and discussion opportunities – but make sure to register to secure your place.
I’d love to see you there and let me know if you’re planning to attend so we can try and shout as many schools out as possible!

THE AGENDA

10:00 – 10:30: Digital skills matter for all
Students will learn about the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s world of work, before reflecting on their own skillset.

10:30 – 11:15: A breadth of roles and sectors
We’ll delve deeper into jobs in the digital and tech industry through conversation with a panel of BT Group colleagues in different roles. Your students will see just how digital skills are used in all roles in the modern workplace and hear employees’ top tips.

15-minute comfort break.

11:30 – 12:00: Real-world application
Students will get a taste of the innovative technology at the heart of BT Group. They’ll consider how these solve all sorts of real-world problems and shape their future work and personal life.
You’ll also receive a free downloadable pack of resources and activity ideas to take the learning even further for your students.

So what are you waiting for? Join me on Tuesday 20th May from 10am – 12pm to help inspire students to feel more confident about the role they can play in a tech driven future.
